Understanding Your Deductions
EPF (Employees Provident Fund)
Retirement fund. Employee contributes 11% (5.5% if 60+), employer 13%/12%. For salary above RM5,000, employer rate reduces to 12%.
SOCSO (PERKESO)
Social security for workplace injury and invalidity. Fixed amounts based on salary range. Wage ceiling RM6,000 (October 2024).
EIS (SIP / Employment Insurance)
Temporary financial aid for job loss. Both employee and employer contribute 0.2%. Wage ceiling RM6,000 (October 2024).
